Circuit Breaker TrippingUpdated 2 months ago
If your circuit breaker trips while using BedJet, it’s rarely true overload. At most everyday settings BedJet draws only a few hundred watts and can maintain your chosen temperature for hours without issue.
Many newer bedrooms use AFCI (Arc-Fault Circuit Interrupter) breakers. AFCIs look for arc/signature patterns and can be overly sensitive, occasionally tripping on perfectly normal devices.
Quick checks
Plug BedJet directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips or thin extension cords).
Try a different outlet on a different circuit to rule out a weak or sensitive breaker.
Make sure the BedJet’s intake/exhaust aren’t blocked (restricted airflow can raise power draw during heating).
Enable the alternate power-draw profile
BedJet 3 and BedJet 3 Mini includes a secondary power mode that changes how power is drawn to reduce interference with sensitive AFCI breakers. This is not the standard Low Power mode and does not reduce heating/cooling performance.
Steps:
On the Smart Remote: Menu → BedJet Setup → Advanced → Test Modes
Enter the sequence to reveal options:
UP, UP, DOWN, LEFT, DOWN, DOWN, SELECT, M1, M2, M3Select “Mode B”.
Using two BedJet 3 units in one room
If you’re running two full-size BedJet 3 units as a Dual Zone setup, set Low Power on both units to reduce peak draw on the circuit. (This does not apply to BedJet 3 Mini Dual Zone systems.) If the above steps are needed, repeat on each individual BedJet unit remote.
