Power Consumption & Energy SavingsUpdated 2 months ago

BedJet’s power use varies by mode and fan level. Here’s what to expect—and how small thermostat tweaks can translate into real savings.

BedJet 3 — Power Use

  • Cooling: 9–40 W

  • Regular Heat: 100–1100 W

  • Turbo Heat: 1500 W (auto-limits to 10 minutes)

    • Turbo Heat typically needs less than five minutes to reach that “fresh-from-the-dryer” warmth.

  • Low Power Mode ON (Heat/Turbo): 100–800 W max

  • Standby: ~1.5 W

BedJet 3 Mini — Power Use

  • Cooling: 10–30 W

  • Regular Heat: 150–550 W

  • Turbo Heat: 775 W max

    • Turbo Heat typically needs less than five minutes to reach that “fresh-from-the-dryer” warmth.

  • Standby: ~1.5 W

Low Power Mode & Dual Zone

  • Turn Low Power Mode ON if you’re concerned about draw; it caps Heat/Turbo to 800 W and stays within a typical 15A bedroom circuit.

  • Dual Zone note: Keep Low Power Mode ON only when running two full-size BedJet 3 units on the same room/circuit. (Not needed for a single unit or most Mini setups.)

What It Costs to Run

  • Nightly cooling averages well under $1/month for most owners.

  • Heating typically costs a few dollars per month, depending on runtime and local rates.

Documented Ways to Save More

Because BedJet targets the micro-climate under your covers (not the whole room), many owners nudge their home thermostat at night and still sleep better—often saving on utilities. Reputable agencies report the following rules of thumb:

  • United States (DOE): Setting your thermostat back 7–10°F for 8 hours can save up to ~10% per year on heating/cooling. The Department of Energy's Energy.gov

  • United Kingdom (Energy Saving Trust): Turning the thermostat down by 1°C can save around 10% on heating costs (actual £ savings vary by home and tariffs). Energy Saving Trust+1

  • European Union (European Commission): Raising your AC setpoint by 1°C can reduce electricity use by almost 10% for cooling. EnergyEuropean Commission

Real-world mileage will vary by climate, insulation, and energy prices—but even small setpoint changes can add up. Many customers tell us their BedJet paid for itself in energy savings within the first year.
